1	大利烏王第二年六月初一日，耶和華的話藉先知哈該向猶大省長撒拉鐵的兒子所羅巴伯和約撒答的兒子大祭司約書亞說：
			In the second year of Darius the king, in the sixth month, in the first day of the month, came the word of the LORD by Haggai the prophet unto Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and to Joshua the son of Josedech, the high priest, saying,
		2	萬軍之耶和華如此說：「這百姓說，建造耶和華殿的時候尚未來到。」
			Thus speaketh the LORD of hosts, saying, This people say, The time is not come, the time that the LORD'S house should be built.
		3	那時耶和華的話臨到先知哈該說：
			Then came the word of the LORD by Haggai the prophet, saying,
		4	「這殿仍然荒涼，你們自己還住天花板的房屋嗎？
			# Is it time for you, O ye, to dwell in your cieled houses, and this house waste?
		5	現在萬軍之耶和華如此說：你們要省察自己的行為。
			Now therefore thus saith the LORD of hosts; Consider your ways.
		6	你們撒的種多，收的卻少；你們吃，卻不得飽；喝，卻不得足；穿衣服，卻不得暖；得工錢的，將工錢裝在破漏的囊中。」
			Ye have sown much, and bring in little; ye eat, but ye have not enough; ye drink, but ye are not filled with drink; ye clothe you, but there is none warm; and he that earneth wages earneth wages into a bag with holes.
		7	萬軍之耶和華如此說：「你們要省察自己的行為。
			Thus saith the LORD of hosts; Consider your ways.
		8	你們要上山取木料，建造這殿，我就因此喜樂，且得榮耀。這是耶和華說的。
			Go up to the mountain, and bring wood, and build the house; and I will take pleasure in it, and I will be glorified, saith the LORD.
		9	你們盼望多得，所得的卻少；你們收到家中，我就吹去。這是為什麼呢？因為我的殿荒涼，你們各人卻顧（原文作奔）自己的房屋。這是萬軍之耶和華說的。
			Ye looked for much, and, lo, to little; and when ye brought home, I did blow upon it. Why? saith the LORD of hosts. Because of mine house that waste, and ye run every man unto his own house.
		10	所以為你們的緣故，天就不降甘露，地也不出土產。
			Therefore the heaven over you is stayed from dew, and the earth is stayed her fruit.
		11	我命乾旱臨到地土、山岡、五穀、新酒，和油，並地上的出產、人民、牲畜，以及人手一切勞碌得來的。」
			And I called for a drought upon the land, and upon the mountains, and upon the corn, and upon the new wine, and upon the oil, and upon which the ground bringeth forth, and upon men, and upon cattle, and upon all the labour of the hands.
		12	那時，撒拉鐵的兒子所羅巴伯和約撒答的兒子大祭司約書亞，並剩下的百姓，都聽從耶和華他們神的話和先知哈該奉耶和華他們神差來所說的話；百姓也在耶和華面前存敬畏的心。
			Then Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, and Joshua the son of Josedech, the high priest, with all the remnant of the people, obeyed the voice of the LORD their God, and the words of Haggai the prophet, as the LORD their God had sent him, and the people did fear before the LORD.
		13	耶和華的使者哈該奉耶和華差遣對百姓說：「耶和華說：我與你們同在。」
			Then spake Haggai the LORD'S messenger in the LORD'S message unto the people, saying, I with you, saith the LORD.
		14	耶和華激動猶大省長撒拉鐵的兒子所羅巴伯和約撒答的兒子大祭司約書亞，並剩下之百姓的心，他們就來為萬軍之耶和華他們神的殿做工。
			And the LORD stirred up the spirit of Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and the spirit of Joshua the son of Josedech, the high priest, and the spirit of all the remnant of the people; and they came and did work in the house of the LORD of hosts, their God,
		15	這是在大利烏王第二年六月二十四日。
			In the four and twentieth day of the sixth month, in the second year of Darius the king.
