Hope deferred maketh the heart sick: but the desire cometh, a tree of life. |

藐視訓言的,自取滅亡;敬畏誡命的,必得善報。 |

Whoso despiseth the word shall be destroyed: but he that feareth the commandment shall be rewarded. |

Poverty and shame him that refuseth instruction: but he that regardeth reproof shall be honoured. |

所欲的成就,心覺甘甜;遠離惡事,為愚昧人所憎惡。 |

The desire accomplished is sweet to the soul: but abomination to fools to depart from evil. |

與智慧人同行的,必得智慧;和愚昧人作伴的,必受虧損。 |

He that walketh with wise shall be wise: but a companion of fools shall be destroyed. |

禍患追趕罪人;義人必得善報。 |

Evil pursueth sinners: but to the righteous good shall be repayed. |

善人給子孫遺留產業;罪人為義人積存資財。 |

A good leaveth an inheritance to his children's children: and the wealth of the sinner laid up for the just. |

窮人耕種多得糧食,但因不義,有消滅的。 |

Much food the tillage of the poor: but there is destroyed for want of judgment. |

不忍用杖打兒子的,是恨惡他;疼愛兒子的,隨時管教。 |
